A new conversation is looming about what the Metaverse is and how it impacts the future.
Of course, the Metaverse and its capabilities have been interpreted differently, but this article explores how different Metaverse events are being facilitated using virtual platforms.
Over the past two years, people and industries around the world have turned to virtual events to connect and build communities. Virtual venues are more accessible, accommodating audiences everywhere, and not to mention cost-effective too.
Marriage in the Metaverse
Yep, you read that correctly. Marriage in the Metaverse – an avatar-based hybrid wedding ceremony. While technology has advanced, weddings that occur solely in a virtual setting are still not legally binding ceremonies.
Even so, it doesn't detract from the idea of how revolutionary technology has become and its ability to bring people together. Dave and Traci Gagnon met in the metaverse on eXp Realty's virtual campus, eXp World, so what better way to celebrate their union and bring it full circle than in a virtual environment powered by Virbela.
Birthday Parties
The world hasn’t lacked creativity when it comes to celebrating someone’s birthday, a parade of ornamented honking cars, lawn decorations, and the world's first avatar-based bat mitzvah.
That’s right, a virtual bat mitzvah. Approximately 250 viewers tuned in, while another 100 guests participated in the immersive party. It is possible to create an engaging experience with pre-recorded videos that can be shared, hire a DJ, and fully integrate yourself in the moment with friends and family.
Graduation Ceremonies
Graduating is one of the most rewarding milestones in life, but it has looked a little different over the past two years. Although you may not be able to meet at the same physical location, you can still have a safe celebration together.
Virbela was the host platform of the 2020 graduation ceremony for Branksome Hall, an independent school for girls in Toronto. So, what about graduation cap and gown? No worries, our avatars come with customizable regalia.
The graduation ceremony should include all the essential elements needed to create an atmosphere that allows graduates, faculty, staff, and loved ones to feel as if they were there.
The possibilities for Metaverse events are endless. It is important to offer attendees the opportunity to participate, engage, and enjoy the event. After all, people will find a way to have a good time no matter the limitations.
